We will visit the ancient capitals of Myanmar, then ride through the lush highlands of Shan State and arrive in Bagan to contemplate the magnificent of the temple plain. On this 10 - day motorbike tour in Burma, we will mainly run through the rural areas and explore the Burmese countryside life. You will have a chance to visit many beautiful regions of the country, discover secret villages and experience the culture of the ethnic communities in Shan State. Best time for this tour
This tour can be taken at any time of the year but the best time to ride is from Oct to the end of April when the weather is moderate with less chance of raining. Even if it rains, it is not enough to spoil your ride. So, you can freely pick up this tour at any time you like. Come and ride with us!
Departure time
The tour will start in the morning at 8.00am with a pick up from your hotel in Mandalay. Please be noted that you need to arrive at least one day before the tour starts (we recommend two days earlier to acclimate and avoid jet lag). We are pleased to arrange hotel in Mandalay upon your request with additional cost.
Return time
The tour will end around 4.00pm or 5.00pm back in Mandalay, so it is possible for you to catch a departure flight on same day or take a connecting flight to extend your beach holiday in Ngapali (Ngapali beach is not recommended between May to end of August due to the rainy season).
Luggage
Most of touring time, you have to bring luggage along with you and pack it on the back of your bike. Chased pick-up truck is arranged on special requirement only. So, the luggage is recommended to be light and easy to tight up.
Fitness
While you don't have to be an athlete to join us on this adventure, we would not recommend this tour to those who cannot, for instance, climb a flight of stairs without puffing and blowing. Please note that there are some long days in the saddle. We reach some high altitudes on this tour, so if you have any existing medical condition, please consult your doctor before booking.
Gears
We strongly recommend that you bring your own gears to be the most comfortable and all protective. We also provide helmets, gloves, knee and elbow guards which are of high quality brands in many different sizes. Please be noted that we do not offer jackets, boots and trousers due to hygienic reasons. Good trekking or sport shoes and jeans should be enough.
All inclusive
Since almost everything is included in your tour package (motorcycle rental; accommodation; fuel cost; tour guide; all entry fees; all meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner; soft drinks and more), your biggest expenses will be paid for alcoholic beverages in the evening and shopping.
200$ should cover all your expenses if you are not a big drinker. Shopping is great so you might want to bring along some cash in case you see something you really like.

PRE ARRIVAL
Today should be your arrival day to Mandalay. Upon your request, we will be pleased to arrange your ground transport or accommodation in Mandalay.
It is to be noted that you are informed to meet up with your ground operation team in Mandalay on that day to do the technical inspection to the motorbike and other necessary gears and equipments arranged for your trip with us in Myanmar. In addition to that the agreement of taking and using the motorbike of Burma Motorbike Tours shall be made on that day.
Today is what we have all been waiting for to begin a journey like no other and discover this truly incredible beauty of Myanmar. We will start riding to Myinmu just 73 km away from Mandalay. Myinmu is a river town in the south-east of the Sagaing Division in Burma. The town has a rich history linked to World War II during the Burma Campaign against the Japanese in 1944.
Take a short break at Myinmu before start off driving to Pakokku by passing through local village. On the way, you can stop by some villages where you will see the people making incense sticks, bamboo made items and the village of weaving factory. Upon arrival to Pakokku, check in hotel and overnight.
Enjoy a big breakfast at hotel, you’ll need it! We’ve got a full day of outstanding riding ahead of us today! Expect a good mix of road/gravel and single trails as we ride some excellent terrain. It is a journey to vanishing face of Burma - Mindat. Located in the western part of Myanmar, Mindat is accessible by road from Bagan, one of the most famous ecotourism sites in Myanmar. A visit to Chin region is an opportunities to observe their strange traditional custom and chin women with tattoos on their faces.
Hunting is still practice and one can see various head bones of animals proudly hanged at walls of local houses. Their primitive weapon is the bow and arrow. So get ready to enjoy the incredible local jungle trails and featuring an abundance of lush greenery, varied terrain, rickety wooden bridges, and remote villages with a nice blend of single track thrown into the mix. We'll be greeted with cooler weather as you get to Mindat located at 1,481 metres (4,860 ft) above sea level.
Upon arrival to Mindat, enjoy the lunch and continue sightseeing to the remote village of tattooed women with different tattoo designs on their faces.
Today, we’ve got mixed terrain with a great range of jungle trails, and winding road sections edging through some outstanding jungle-covered mountains and wild rivers on the way to Kanpetlet by passing through Kyar Htoe Village where to see Primitive Tribe Of Tattooed women living in their traditional houses and Aye camp where to enjoy the picnic lunch before we head off to Kanpetlet which is a small town with a population of a few thousands and situates about 1,370 meters above the sea level. Upon arrival to Kanpetlet, free and easy for the rest of the day.
Another awesome full day of riding (one of the best days on the calendar!) when you are heading into Bagan - the visual wonder of the world alongside with Angkor in Cambodia and Borobodur in Indonesia. Bagan is simply vast, nearly 70 square kilometres in extent. we’ll be passing a number of small remote villages. Doing some serious km's today as we tackle some bumpy trails, gravel roads and shall be arriving late afternoon into the unique unique and ancient city of Myanmar known as Bagan. Upon arrival to Bagan, check in hotel and enjoy the sunset cruise on the Ayeyarwaddy river.
This morning we are going to explore the highlight of Bagan by car. After breakfast at hotel, we will be devoted to discover of Bagan - the mystic extraordinary archaeological site with its 3000 temples. Start a sightseeing tour with a visit to Nyaung Oo Colorful Market and a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoa, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Wetkyi Inn Gubyaukgyi, fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes; and Htilominlo Pagoda, noted for its plaster curving, Ananda Temple, the best preserved masterpieces of Mon architecture and the Tharaba gate.
Then visit lacquerware workshop before we take a lunch break at good local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will drive to the enchanting Mt. Popa which is a great extinct volcano standing out as a green-clad landmark in the Dry Zone. Enjoy the scenic view of its surrounding from Popa Mountain Resort during the sunset.
Time to climb! On the bikes that is, for another day of incredible adventure riding as you make your way up the twisty road of Shan Mountain Range trails to visit Kalaw which was an old hill station with a laid back atmosphere, refreshing climate and scenic views. Many of Kalaw’s original colonial era buildings remain, and it is also known as Myanmar’s trekking mecca. Upon arrival to Kalaw, check in hotel.
Another fantastic day lays ahead with Shan Mountains trails and experience incredible scenery, friendly locals and many waving children always excited to see. We'll pass through some small villages these are less visited by foreigners and stop at the village and spend your time to interact with local people to have the great fun. Enjoy the picnic lunch at the village on the way to Inle Lake. Upon arrival in Nyaung Shwe, you will check in hotel then be free to discover the town on your own.
After breakfast, transfer to jetty and take a boat ride for full day sightseeing in Inle lake. You can start your lake exploration to one of the local five-day markets (if market day is coincided with your stay in Inle lake, and the highlights include Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda which enshrines the famous five Buddha statues who are totally covered by gold, the unique leg rowers and floating gardens, silk weaving village (Inpaw Khone Village) and then lunch break at good local restaurant in Inle lake.
After lunch, we are to continue excursion to Hand rolled cigar making factory, Black smith factory and Nga Phae Chaung monastery; well known for its ancient Buddha images made of teak, bamboo and lacquer and its nickname is “Jumping Cats Monastery” for its trained cats by monks to jump into the hoop. You are also to visit the stilt houses to observe the life style of the water dweller and floating gardens corner of Inle lake. Return to your hotel.
Today we’ve got an awesome half-day of trail riding, so get ready to enjoy again the incredible scenery and colorful plantation on the way to Pindaya. We will stop at Pindaya to enjoy the lunch and before driving up to Ya Sa Kyi Village - The village of Pa Laung Tribe. Free to hang around the village to interact with local people.
After breakfast at village monastery, it is time to say Good Bye to local people with the big smile and then start to drive down to Mandalay by passing through lots of villages and endless surrounding plantation that are still often ploughed using water buffalo. Stop at the view points and nice place where to relax and record the intact nature of Myanmar through your heart and camera. Enjoy the lunch at local restaurant on the way and upon arrival to Mandalay you will be transferred to hotel where you are staying overnight.
