Best time to take this tour
This tour can be taken at any time of the year but the best time to ride this tour is from October to end of May when the weather is moderate with less chance of raining. Even if it rains, it is not enough to spoil your ride. So, you can freely pick up this tour at any time you like. Come and ride with us!
Departure time
The tour will start in the morning at 8.00am with a pick up from your hotel in Mandalay. Please be noted that you need to arrive at least one day before the tour starts (we recommend two days earlier to acclimate and avoid jet lag). We are pleased to arrange hotel in Mandalay upon your request with additional cost.
Return time
The tour will end around 4.00pm or 5.00pm back in Mandalay, so it is possible for you to catch a departure flight on same day or take a connecting flight to extend your beach holiday in Ngapali (Ngapali beach is not recommended between May to end of August due to the rainy season).
Luggage
Most of touring time, you have to bring luggage along with you and pack it on the back of your bike. Chased pick-up truck is arranged on special requirement only. So, the luggage is recommended to be light and easy to tight up.
Fitness
While you don't have to be an athlete to join us on this adventure, we would not recommend this tour to those who cannot, for instance, climb a flight of stairs without puffing and blowing. Please note that there are some long days in the saddle. We reach some high altitudes on this tour, so if you have any existing medical condition, please consult your doctor before booking.
Gears
We strongly recommend that you bring your own gears to be the most comfortable and all protective. We also provide helmets, gloves, knee and elbow guards which are of high quality brands in many different sizes. Please be noted that we do not offer jackets, boots and trousers due to hygienic reasons. Good trekking or sport shoes and jeans should be enough.
All inclusive
Since almost everything is included in your tour package (motorcycle rental; accommodation; fuel cost; tour guide; all entry fees; all meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner; soft drinks and more), your biggest expenses will be paid for alcoholic beverages in the evening and shopping.
200$ should cover all your expenses if you are not a big drinker. Shopping is great so you might want to bring along some cash in case you see something you really like.

Today is the first day of our motorbike journey. We will get out of the busy streets and roll up to the mountainous area of the Northern Shan State which shares the border with China. We will ride about 20 km before reaching the Shan plateau.
Firstly, we will head off to Pyin Oo Lwin and then pay a visit to Dee Doke - the 9 mile waterfalls & the elephant camp where you can take a short break and feed the elephants. Next, we will continue driving up and down the mountain trails surrounded by scenic view and less busy roads to Ye Ywar Dam. We will have lunch at the local restaurant before hit the tracks of so many twist and turns (more than 1000 meter above the sea level).
After riding through the twisty Gode Dwin Road, we will stop for a while to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Northern Shan Plateau and the refreshing beverages before heading off to Hsipaw.
Overnight at Northern Land Hotel in Hsipaw.
The little town of Hsipaw located on the banks of Duthawadi River, is one of the most pristine regions in Myanmar which is locally and internationally famous for trekking through the tribal villages.
At first, we pay a visit to the Central Market which is one of the best markets to explore in Burma. Shan, Kachin and many other ethnic groups come here to trade regularly. You can find a wide range of products here from radios, spare parts to diverse foodstuffs, and of course, Shan clothing like trousers, hats or sandals.
Then, we will go out of the town to visit Myit Son - the confluence of the Legendary Dokehtawaddy river.
On the way, we will stop at a very untouched Shan village called Sone Long by passing through beautiful paddy fields, lush plantations and some railway tracks. This village offers you an opportunity to visit the tiny train station and a relaxing walk around the area to experience the different life styles of the tribal people and their unique & traditional houses.
As we return to Hispaw, we get back to the hotel and collect our stuffs for loading on our bikes. Enjoy your lunch at a good local restaurant in Hsipaw.
